Be discrete about your personal problems because men have set notions of what is romantic and what is not and if you tell them about your health issues or about the hygiene standards in your apartment building, they chance of their looking at you as someone they want to know better is remote.  While many books on dating tips for women will tell you how important it is to be open and honest, keep in mind that there is a time to admit to your personal flaws and irritating habits – but the first few dates are not those times.  Be careful of how much you drink – getting drunk is a big turn off for the guys, unless his intensions are less than “honorable.”  And should you get drunk, you will be in no position to watch his behavior for things you like and also dislike; and even worse, if you can’t recall how you behaved, how will you know what you may have let yourself in for?

Do not feel awkward when a conversation pauses for a few moments – let it restart naturally and spend those few moments watching his body language or letting your eyes meet, if you want to.  Know that there nothing wrong in a woman making the first move to get a date but after that it’s a mistake to make a man think he is being chased – it makes him feel he is not in control and can also seem to be a reflection on his masculinity.
